Our machine and mechanical aid drivers are skilled port workers specially trained to customer requirement on all aspects of machinery in your container terminal. Drivers are available to any shift pattern, including weekends and are equipped with a full driving licence.
Our machine drivers maintaining zero damage tolerances through quality training and working practices, abide by Safe System of Work procedures, are fully compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act and operate to preserve and foster sound environmental practices within their duties.
All container personnel undergo a comprehensive training programme designed to underpin the skill base required within a safety-critical port operation, and deliver the standards expected of a modern container facility.
South Coast Port Services offers the NVQ Port Apprenticeship Training Scheme incorporating NVQ Level 2 Stevedoring, a nationally recognised qualification at the Port Of Southampton. The scheme is available to all employees that wish to further their accreditation.

South Coast Port Services was established at the Port of Southampton in the 1950's.
60 years later, we continue to provide services to a growing number of operators at the port, and more recently to the deep-sea container terminal at London Gateway, Thurrock.
